Contia Authenticator

Contia Authenticator is a 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) app that generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) to secure your online accounts.

Getting started

Add an account

1. Tap the + button on the home screen.
2. Scan the QR code shown by the service you want to protect, or enter the setup key manually.
3. The account appears in your list and immediately starts generating codes.

Use a code

Tap a code to copy it to the clipboard. Each code is valid for 30 seconds — the timer ring shows how much time remains.

Security & unlock

The app is protected by a 4-digit passcode that is set on first launch. You can also enable Face ID / fingerprint unlock in the settings.

To change your passcode or toggle biometric unlock, open the menu (top-right) and go to Security.

Frequently asked questions

The code I enter is rejected by the service.

Make sure your device's date and time are set to automatic / network time. TOTP codes are time-sensitive and will not work if your clock is off.

I got a new phone — how do I transfer my accounts?

The app does not currently support export or cloud backup. You must re-add each account by scanning its QR code again, or use the service's account-recovery process.

I forgot my passcode.

There is no passcode recovery. You will need to delete and reinstall the app, then re-add all accounts.

The camera does not open for QR scanning.

Make sure the app has camera permission. On iOS go to Settings > Contia Authenticator > Camera; on Android go to Settings > Apps > Contia Authenticator > Permissions.
